Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine has a long history in China, mainly within the Martial Arts community. Anyone practicing a Martial Art would be treated with acupuncture and herbal medicine, both topical and internal, for the treatment of injury and for enhancing performance. That legacy is alive and well outside of China as professional athletes utilize the benefits of Chinese medicine to maintain their athletic careers. Many olympic athletes, marathon runners, professional baseball and soccer players, take advantage of Chinese medicine to heal injuries, increase muscular function and improve endurance.

Non-professionals can take advantage of this four thousand year old system of medicine as well. Repetitive stress injuries from sports or from sitting in an office chair working on a computer daily, can be treated. Acute injury whether from an active lifestyle or from an accident, chronic pain from an old injury that never healed properly or from over-use can all be treated with Chinese Medicine. Some injuries require a handful of visits in a short time-span, but for sports enhancement, patients may find that regular treatment on a monthly basis will suit their needs.
